      The Native-American Part???

My father, Raymond Soucie,(son of Louis T Soucie and Victoria Langlois ,
Kankakee, Ill.) told us that we
were part "Indian", but I never got the details on that. My mother, of the Couture
Clan,(her mother, Eva Couture), verified that
both Soucie and Couture are mixed with Native American, we ,know about
Guilliame(William)Couture, and his exploits with Father Isaac Jogues SJ,
circa 1650, and his subsequent absolution to deaconship, then marrying
among the Iroquois; however, my own search, years ago, only showed soucy,
starting at late 1700s and no info about the
Native American Connection. We,(my siblings and I), have always suspected
that the Soucies had perhaps a connection with a different tribe..Anyone
      know??? Anything???
