Ann Frances (Dooley) Soucie, 87, of Campbell died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell. Ann was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Hot Springs, S.D., to Jerry and Loretta (Powers) Dooley.
On Sept. 22, 1948, she married Ernest "Bud" Soucie at Campbell.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Jerry of Lincoln and Mark of Wichita, Kan.; daughters, Kay Theer of Lawrence and Trudy Pedley of Lincoln; sister, Arlene Price of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Ann Frances (Dooley) Soucie was born on February 25, 1924 to Jerry & Loretta (Powers) Dooley in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell, Nebraska at the age of 87. Her passing is a great loss to her many friends and large family as her strength and courage while battling many health issues was an inspiration to all.
Growing up in the "gumbo" country near Oelrichs, South Dakato, Ann was the eleventh of twelve children and very proud of her Irish Catholic ancestry. She graduated from Assumption Academy and Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. With a degree in education, she taught two years at Upland High School.
Ann married Ernest (Bud) Soucie on September 22, 1948 at Campbell and they farmed in the Campbell area. This union was blessed with four children. In 1973 they moved to Oakley, Kansas and returned to Campbell in 1982 to retire. Due to declining health, she moved to Grandview Manor in 2007.
Ann was active in numerous community organizations including Women's Club, P.E.O., American Legion Auxiliary, St. Anne's Altar Society, Campbell Area Chamber of Commerce, Franklin County Historical Society and served as a 4-H Leader. Ann always had a project or two spread out on her dining room table and while the dishes may have piled up on the counter, she had a passion for research, writing and editing. Some of the projects included "Along and Beyond the Little Blue," "The Centennial History of Campbell" and "Those Good Old Golden Rural Days" the rural schools of Franklin County.
She is survived by her husband Bud of 62 years of Campbell; sons and daughter-in-law: Jerry & Tracie, Lincoln, Mark & Marita, Wichita, Ks. former daughter-in-law Connie Soucie of Lincoln; daughters and son-in-laws: Kay & Joe Theer, Lawrence, Trudy & Barry Pedley, Lincoln: (8) Grandchildren, (2) Step Grandchildren, (4) Great Grandchildren, (1) Sister: Arlene Price, El Paso, Texas, numerous relatives, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six Brothers and four Sisters.
Rosary was held Friday, April 1, 2011 and Mass was held Saturday, April 2, 2011, from St. Anne Catholic Church in Campbell with Very Rev. James Schrader and Very Rev. Valerian Bartek Officiating.
Burial was in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Campbell.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorials to Campbell Volunteer Fire Dept., Franklin County Museum, Webster County 4-H. Foundation, Grandview Manor or St. Anne Catholic Church.
Campbell Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
