He was the beloved husband of Helene J. (Gervais) Soucy. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Florence E. (Galipeau) Soucy. He was a resident of Warwick and communicant of St. Kevin Church for 33 years before moving to West Greenwich. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, he was a graduate of Roger Williams College with a degree in Electronics. Mr. Soucy worked for Storage Technology Corporation for 25 years in sales before retiring on disability with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2002. Prior to his affliction with ALS, he was an avid skier and loved both traveling and boating. Besides his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Jim, Arthur, Alfred, all of West Greenwich, and John, of Saunderstown; two daughters, Kristen Rich, also of West Greenwich, and Karolyn Saccoccia, of Warwick; eleven grandchildren; and a sister, Jacqueline Mathieu, of Narragansett. His funeral will be held on Friday, March 28, at 8:45 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, RI Chapter, 2915 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886.
