      DAWN A. SOUCY
      PLATTSBURGH — Mrs. Dawn A. Soucy, 60, of St. Charles Street, Plattsburgh, passed
      away Friday, March 27, 2009, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in
      Plattsburgh June 2, 1948, the daughter of Elner and Genevieve (Mitchell) LaValley.
      She graduated from D'Youville Academy and Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School and
      she was employed as a monitor at Bailey Avenue School for many years. She was an avid
      stamp collector and reader. She also loved cats and music, especially John Denver.
      She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Rodney Soucy; a daughter, Bethany R.
      Soucy of Plattsburgh; her mother, Genevieve LaValley of Plattsburgh; a brother and
      sister-in-law, Bruce and Donna LaValley of Plattsburgh; a special friend, Sharon Hart; and
      several nieces and nephews.
      Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral
      Home, 29 Broad St., in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 29,
      2009, at 4 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home chapel with Rev. William Reamer, chaplain
      at CVPH, officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's cemetery at a later date.
      Memorial donations may be offered to the Elmore SPCA, Adirondack Humane Society, or
      the St. John Feral Cat Fund.
      Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., in Plattsburgh.
