Josephine "Jo" A. Emond, 94, longtime resident of East Hartford, went to be with our Lord on July 24, 2011. She was born in Mt. Carmel, PA on March 18, 1917 to the late Victor and Mary (Welkom) Przekopski.
Josephine will be dearly missed by her loving family; her sons Victor and his wife Ursula of NH., Donald and his wife Dixie of MA., her daughter Denise Mott of East Hartford, her beloved grandchildren; Melissa and her husband Michael, Todd, Max, Rachael and Shenni, her great grandchildren; Lindsey and Brandon, and her brother Richard Przekopski and his wife Ann of Cromwell.
In addition to her parents, Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Fred Emond, grandson Joseph Young, and sister Katherine Rychlovsky.
Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she was in essence a "real sweetheart". She loved lounging at the beach, polka music, Bingo, her cats, but mostly being surrounded by the love of her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Jo will be greatly missed by all.
Visiting hours will be held at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, on Monday (August 1, 2011) from 8:30-9:30 a.m., followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
The family extends their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Fox Hill Care Center in Vernon for their professional care and loving compassion given to Jo.
