Verona ''V'' Brouillet, 87, of Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home,
Bourbonnais, formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) at
Riverside Medical Center. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today at the
Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee, with a 3 p.m. wake service. A
funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa Catholic
Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Anthony Taschetta. Burial
will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee. Memorials may be made to Our
Lady of Victory or to the Ray Graham Assoc. for the Handicapped. She was
born May 24, 1911, in Fowler, Ind., the daughter of Dennis and Cora
Soucie Regnier. Surviving are her husband, Fabien Brouillet, whom she
married June 30, 1930, at St. Rose Catholic Church, of Our Lady of
Victory Nursing Home; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Tanya
Brouillet of Bainbridge, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and
Joel Brault of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Lee Regnier of Georgia;
six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. One sister, Bernadette Lambert; and two brothers, Randall and
Harold Regnier, are deceased. Mrs. Brouillet had been a volunteer for
Easter Seals and received a 15 year Special Achievement Award in 1960.
She was a member of the Riverside Hospital Auxiliary-Volunteer Twig and
the St. Rose Mission Society.
