Looking for any info on family of AlexanderAmo/Emond/Eamo and his wife, Gertrude(Jane)Brassard. They lived in Cornwall area of StormontCo.Ont.and the family was listed on the 1851 census. Alex Eamo b.Can. age 50, Jane 39, John 22Thomas 20, Ferdinand 16, Alexander 10, Felix 18, William 5, Jane 18, Maargaret 16 and Ellen 2. As far as I know, Thommas Emmo, a blacksmith age 31 was listed in the 1861Osnabruck census, as well as Catherine 23, John 7 and Eleanor 1-remaining in the Cornwall area. Ferdinand was listed aswell, as a showmaker, and William went to Cardinal. All otherswent to Ogdensburg, NY area; Alex Jane I believe , alongwith John, Alexander, Felix, Jane , Margaret and Ellen. Ellenmarried Charles Lalonde and young Jane married Alex Bissett. I amlooking for the parents of Alexander Emond(AMO) and Gertrude(Jane) Brassardand where they were from and any other pertinent info. Ellen Kathleen Amo Lalonde, sister of Jean Baptiste Amo was born in Cornwall,Quebec, Canada Feb 22,1849 to Alexander Amo & Gertrude Brassard both of Canada. She died March 22,1933 buried in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ogdenburg,N.y. age 84 yrs, 1 mo. Jean Baptiste Amo (John Amo,) father to Charles Joseph Amo, moved from Ogdensburg to Schenectady,N.Y. father of Anna Marie Meehan and Gertrude Emma Amo , Anna was my mother and we ended up in Chatham,N.Y. Would like to get any informationon family. Years ago my mother said a Harry Amo did and extensive family research but he move out to , I believe the St. Regis Indian rev. were he had family.
