She was strong, vibrant and healthy until a very short time ago. She was taken quickly home to Jesus as was her wish and a blessing. She was a member of this Oshawa community for 35 years and during that time volunteered her services to those in need and was an active member of her residence, Faith Place community. She lived a long full life filled with love from her family and friends. She recently enjoyed a 100th birthday celebration with her whole family and on that day we had never seen her happier. We will always remember her and how happy she was on that day as well as all the happy memories she gave us over the many years we were lucky enough to have her. She leaves behind a loving daughter Nicole Soucy Bernard, who was not only her daughter and advocate but her friend. She also leaves behind a beloved son Danny Soucy from Montreal, Quebec who treasured her with all his heart and his wife Jane. She leaves four grandchildren, son of Danny Soucy, Terry Soucy, his wife Nathalie and their five boys, Yuri, Yann, Nicola, Alexi and Tommy. Son of Danny Soucy, Alex Soucy his wife Lan, and their children Eileen and Hugh. She also leaves behind the daughters of Nicole Soucy Bernard and the late Eddy Bernard, Diane Bernard Baldwin her husband Glenn William Baldwin and their children Daniel and Nicolas and granddaughter Suzanne Bernard Britton and her husband Jeff. A sincere thank you to the palliative care team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassionate care during her final days. A Service to celebrate her life wil be held in the spring, an announcement will be printed at that time.
