Subject: [ONT] HAMON/HAMOND/EMON/EMOND
I seem to be narrowing in on my mysterious Elzear Jules HAMON/EMOND. I have a microfilm for St Felicite, Clarence Creek, Prescott-Russell County, Ontario.
I located his parent's marriage, and some of his siblings: All the children were recorded under different spellings of Hamon:
1. Maurice HAMOND married Anne DAUPLEY - France?
2. Henri HAMOND married Marceline COUVRETTE (Liboire Couvrette and Marceline Guidoir(?)) 7 Jan 1878 Clarence Creek
3. Marie Anaise EMOND baptized 22/23 Oct 1875 Clarence Creek
3. Louis Hanry Damase HAMON baptized 29 Sep 1877 Clarence Creek
3. Maurice Hormidas(?) EMON baptized 29 Nov 1879 Clarence Creek
Apparently, there are at least three more children, one being my Elzear. I believe Elzear was the fourth born, as in the marriage entry for 1903, it says Elzear was of age. I believe this would make him at least 21 years old. I need to find a source to be able to check dates from 1880 to 1882.
Does anyone have access to the 1881 census, that would be able to do a look up for Elzear?
My mother is gone south for the next month, so was hoping to be able to finally find Elzear for her.
Has anyone come across the surname COUVRETTE? I have looked in a few areas, and this is the first time I've seen the name. Would love to hear form anyone with suggestions.
Until I read from you,
Brenda
