Methuen, MA — Cecile M. Soucy, 90, of Methuen, passed away Thursday, December 5, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Eugenia (Gaudreau) Gaumont. Cecile was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Anne's High School. For over 20 years she owned and operated Soucy's Greenhouse. Cecile was a member of St. Theresa's Choir, the Red Hat Club, and the Third Order of Mary. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, music, but most of all spending time with her family. She was known for her scrumptious holiday pies and homemade baked beans, often requested at huge family reunions held at farmstead in Methuen. Cecile and her husband, Clifford, gathered their children to form the Soucy Family Singers who performed at churches, nursing homes and for civic groups for many years. She loved to sing and was famous for her yodeling. She also played the guitar and the harmonica.
Cecile was predeceased by her two husbands, Clifford D. Soucy and Robert Lescarbeau and is survived by her 8 children, Rachel Cieslik and her fiancée, Jamie Cadena, of Tewksbury, Joel Soucy and his wife, Kathy, of Gloucester, Corinne C. LaCharite and Thomas Johnson III of Methuen, Joanne Butler and her husband, Kevin, of Salem NH, Gina Winchell and her husband, George, of Atkinson, NH, Annette Bednez and her husband, Edward, of Baltimore, MD, Paul B. Soucy of Methuen, John J. Soucy and his wife, Vicki, of Methuen; stepchildren, Wayne Lescarbeau and his wife, Jodi, of Lawrence, Kenneth Lescarbeau and wife, Beth, of Florida; siblings, John Gaumont, Jeanne Bienvenue, Annette Lescarbeau, Samuel Gaumont, Theresa Martineau; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her two husbands, Cecile was also predeceased by two other siblings, Eugene Gaumont and Louis Gaumont.
