Soucy, Robert J. 1940-2009

HOPKINTON -- Robert Joseph Soucy, 69, died March 5, 2009, at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord, after a courageous battle with lung fibrosis.
He was born in Lawrence, Mass., to Joseph O. and Roseanna (Levesque) Soucy.
Mr. Soucy began his career as a produce manager with Stop & Shop, a produce manager with Bunny's Superette Stores in Manchester, then as a produce buyer and independent store counselor for Associated Grocers of New England, then as a produce manager with BJ's Warehouse Stores and the Concord Wal-Mart. He retired from the Colonial Village in Contoocook.
Mr. Soucy was honorably discharged from the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in North Andover, Mass., and Manchester. He served on the board of directors for the Tucker Drive Association of Elm Brook Village.
IN HIS LIFE: Survivors include his wife, Veronique "Roni" (Lacroix) Soucy of Hopkinton; his two sons, Kenneth R. "Ken" Soucy and his wife Cynthia of Hopkinton and James L. Soucy and his wife Kathy of Dunbarton; five grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Katherine, Ashley and Madeline; his sister Lorraine Madden of The Woolands, Texas; his sister-in-law, Sylviane Poulin and her husband Maurice of Nahant, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael J. Soucy, in 1969 and by his brother, Leonnel Soucy, in 1955.
