SOUCY, Bruce W. Bruce W. Soucy, 47, husband of Amy Jurich Soucy, passed away unexpectedly on
Saturday (October 31, 2009). He was born in Hartford, the son of Brian and Pamela (Sutherland) Soucy.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his cherished sons, Byron and Brent. Also surviving are
his brother Brett and his wife Stephanie of West Hartford, his Mother-in-law Myrtle Perkins; sisters-in-law,
Judy Jurich and Nicki Jurich, and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bruce had a great love
of ice hockey, playing for the West Hartford Youth Hockey and Conard High School. He instilled that love
into his sons, teaching and coaching them in the game. He was so proud of them and bragged readily
about their skills. He was a member of the Board of Directors for West Hartford Youth Hockey, an
Assistant Coach and most recently became a referee for the sport. Bruce will be dearly missed by all who
loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, 10 a.m. at the Church
of Saint Helena, 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery,
Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, 4–8 p.m. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral
