Edward owned the mammoth "Bel Aire home, located at the top of Buck Hill behind the Glen Spey Post Office. This structure was completed in 1899 and as credited with having the finest rose garden in the area. "BelAire" remained unoccupied following the owner's death and in the 1950's the mansion burned to the ground.

Edward Easton MacKenzie, a son of the late (John) Ross MacKenzie, who was a former resident of the Singer Manufacturing Co, died in his home Wednesday in Boulder, Colorado. He was 65 years old.
Educated in this country and abroad and later traveled extensively in the interest of the Singer Manufacturing Company establishing branches in various countries. He was a member of St. Andrews Society. Survived by his widow, Mrs. Agnes (Helmond) MacKenzie and three daughters. Funeral services were held at Boulder and the interment will be in the family plot in Glen Spey, Sullivan county, New York tomorrow afternoon.
