Myers, FL, passed away at 10:36 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013. at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. She was formerly of Pekin, IL. Born April 10,1930, in Sheboygan, WI, to Earl and Dorothy (Molitor) Strahota, she married Alvin Schleinz on November 3, 1951, in Sheboygan, WI. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Jim (Teresa) Schleinz of Mahomet, IL; one daughter, Karol (Bob) Soucy of Bedford, N.H.; eight grandchildren, Jacob Schleinz of Mahomet; Scott (Kristin) Schleinz of Washington, IL; Brad Schleinz of Emporia, KS; Kurt (Jessica) Schleinz of Spring, TX; Wesley Brown of CT; Nichole Soucy, Daniel Soucy and Michael Soucy, all of Bedford, N.H. and three great-grandsons, Mayson Schleinz, Tanner Schleinz and Rylan Schleinz. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one son; one daughter and one sister. She was the vice president of Central Illinois Bandag in N. Pekin for 17 years, retiring in 1986. She attended Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church in Ft. Myers FL and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, IL. Mary Ann loved to play bridge and golf with her friends in the winter months in Florida, usually playing up to 90 rounds of golf during that time. Her memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, IL.
